About the event
Montréal Mayhem
This year, MTL Mayhem is raising the stakes with an all-new specialty event where your team’s biggest decision happens after you compete. Every eligible team gets 2-runs, but only one chance to win big. After Day 1 performances, scores and rankings will be released. Then comes the ultimate choice:
LOCK IT IN (keep your Day 1 Score) or DOUBLE DOWN! (When you take the floor again on Day 2 you replace your original score with a brand-new one.)
Once you choose to Double Down, your Day 1 score is gone. Your Day 2 performance becomes your official score, whether it’s higher or lower.
Will you play it safe... or risk it all?
How It Works
1. Compete on Day 1.
2. Scores and rankings are released.
3. During your assigned decision window, an authorized coach (the registered team coach in Themis) must report to registration to make one of two choices:
• LOCK IT IN: Keep your Day 1 score as your official score and perform on Day 2 for exhibition only.
• DOUBLE DOWN: Take the floor again on Day 2 and replace your original score with a brand-new one. Once you choose to Double Down, your Day 1 score is gone; your Day 2 performance becomes your official score, whether it’s higher or lower.
Note: regardless of choice, teams will receive scoresheets and comments from both days.
4. Final placements are determined using the score from the day the team selected.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Prep, Novice, and Scholastic divisions will compete as a standard one-run event and are not eligible for the Double Down format.
• Only an authorized coach listed for the team in Themis may submit the team’s decision.
• Teams must choose to Lock It In or Double Down during their assigned window on Sunday
• If we have not received a response from an official coach by the decision deadline, we will assume that the team has chosen to Double Down.
• Following the decision deadline, each team’s selected status (Lock It In or Double Down) will be announced before their team’s performance on Day 2
• Finals and Summit bids/invites will be awarded based on each team’s highest official score, regardless of whether it came from Day 1 or Day 2.
