Fall Classic

Canadian Cheer Fall Classic is an exciting start-of-season event that gives athletes a great opportunity to compete, improve their skills and launch their competition season.

Notes

  • Payment must be received before the payment deadline in order to secure the current price point. For example, payment for registration at the Early Bird Rate must be received in our office before the Early Bird deadline.
  • Registration is not considered complete until payment, rosters and waivers have been received in our office.
  • All paperwork must be received by the deadline in order to be eligible.
  • Athletes need only submit one waiver for the entire competitive season.

Waiver, Coaches' Honour Codes and Credit Card Authorization Forms are available on the Policies & Forms Page.

  • Each athlete must complete a waiver. Siblings must complete separate waivers.
  • One coach per program must complete a Coaches Honour Code. It is not necessary for every coach to complete a form.

Performance Order & General Schedule

The performance order and general schedule posted are tentative. As changes are made, the schedule will be updated and all coaches will receive an email notifying them that the schedule has been updated.

Although all Canadian Cheer events are known for being run on time, unforeseen circumstances sometimes cause times to shift slightly. Last minute schedule changes and team performance times can shift without them being posted here. Spectators, please be aware there may be a change in the performance time of the team you came to watch. We will always attempt to ensure that this does not affect any teams negatively.

Free admission - ticket required

Admission for this event is free; however, all spectators require a ticket for entry to the event. Athletes do not require a ticket.

Schedule of Events

The tentative performance schedule has been posted under the “Schedule” tab. As changes are made, the schedule will be updated, and all coaches will receive an email notifying them that the schedule has been updated.

Although all Canadian Cheer events are known for being run on time, unforeseen circumstances sometimes cause times to shift slightly. Last-minute schedule changes and team performance times can shift without being posted here. Spectators, please be aware that the performance time of the team you came to watch may change. We will always attempt to ensure that this does not negatively affect any teams.

Awards

Please pay attention to when awards ceremonies are scheduled.

Your athletes’ awards ceremony is typically scheduled after the athletes’ session has finished.

Food & Concessions

Snacks and lunch bar concession provided by the Event Center.

ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS WILL BE ALLOWED IN. This is a venue rule, not Canadian Cheer.

Image Policy

  • Please see Cheer Canada’s and/or IASF Image Policy for details.

Facilities

  • We kindly request that all coaches and athletes do not enter the practice area until their report time.
  • Athletes will need wristbands from their coaches to gain access to the venue. Please arrange to meet athletes in the lobby to distribute wristbands.
  • Spectators will be able to purchase tickets at the event.
  • Coaches of young teams are asked to arrange clear meeting times and locations with parents for before and after their performance.
  • Parents are not permitted in the practice gym.

Coaches’ Meeting

  • There will be no officially scheduled coaches’ meeting.
  • Questions can be brought to the Registration Desk, where staff can contact the convenor, judges’ coordinator, or event manager.
  • Please turn in all Coaches Codes of Conduct, waivers, and athletes’ dates of birth.
  • Participants without the required forms or information will not be permitted to enter the warm-up facility or performance floor.

Legalities & Deductions

  • All events will apply deductions for illegal skills and falls.
  • Please review this season’s competition guidelines.
  • Please also review the Score Check procedure.

Scoring

  • The judging process assesses difficulty, execution, choreography, and the overall effectiveness of each routine using standardized judging forms.
  • A deductions and legalities judge will assess falls and illegal elements.
  • Deductions for bobbles will be applied by each judge to the overall impression score.
  • Please review the Score Check policy.
  • Each program will receive a link to a Google Drive folder where score sheets are uploaded.
  • Score sheets will be available after division awards ceremonies.
  • Canadian Cheer follows Cheer Canada Scoring & Divisions.

Practice & Warm-Up Area

Classic Events

There will be a dedicated warm-up area at the venue before each team’s competition time. The practice gym will include a 9-mat practice floor, warm-up mats, and a 60-foot sprung tumble strip.

Championship & Premier Events

There will be a dedicated warm-up area at the venue before each team’s competition time. The practice gym will include full sprung floors, warm-up mats, and a 60-foot tumble strip.

Sports Therapists

  • Sports therapists and emergency response personnel will be available to care for athletes and spectators if necessary.
  • Therapists’ supplies are reserved for their professional use.
  • Their role is to respond to injuries, not to tape wrists and ankles.
  • Please bring your own athletic tape.

Spotters

  • Canadian Cheer will not provide spotters for the event.
  • Coaches who wish to provide their own spotters should contact Canadian Cheer before the event.
  • No deductions will be made for teams providing their own spotters, provided the spotters do not give hands-on assistance or visual or verbal cueing.

Music & Sound Equipment

  • All music must be provided in CD or MP3 format. Do not use CD-RW.
  • If using MP3, ensure the track is in its own playlist.
  • Teams should bring a backup copy of their routine music in case there is a problem with the primary copy.
  • Each team is responsible for ensuring its music is error-free and plays correctly on the sound system.
  • When a team reaches the “in the hole” waiting area, event staff will escort the coach to the music station.

Team Entrance & Exit

  • Teams will enter the performance floor from the back of stage right.
  • To keep the event on schedule, teams must take the floor immediately when announced.
  • Inspirational words or cheers should happen before the team is announced.
  • Event staff will provide notice of the remaining time.
  • After performing, teams will exit stage left and be directed to the video replay area.

  • A variety of clothing will be available for purchase at the PRO Cheer booth.
  • Please visit the booth to see what is available.
  • If event shirts were available for pre-order, they can be picked up at the PRO Cheer booth.
