WHAT IS A LIVE VIRTUAL EVENT?
Teams can compete from the comfort of their own gym with unique technology that allows the recorded video to be broadcast to the event in real time. The Live Event will feature the team on the main floor screens in between the Live teams in the appropriate division. Judges will score in real-time while watching the screens.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Programs that opt for the Live Virtual hybrid option will be shipped a "box" to install in their gym. Strong wifi, a stable phone camera is all that is required and there will be a tech support phone call to help walk you through the installation. The hybrid Live Virtual competition option will be offered at all Championship events (Cheer for the Cure, Battle at the Border/Showdown, Big East Blast/Showdown, Ontario Championships, Quebec Championships, National Championships). The same box can be used for multiple events.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
The registration price listed for the event plus the cost of the box (one time fee). Tiered costs for the "box" are listed below. Athletes will receive all participant gifts or awards (if applicable), shipped to their gym immediately after the event. Programs will receive 1 complimentary live stream access.
One time "box" purchase price: $500+HST
Minimum of 5 teams registered for 1 event: $250 +HST
Minium of 10 teams registered for 1 event: complimentary
HOW DO WE REGISTER?
Register the same way as you would for live events and email Marley@canadiancheer.com to inform us that you are choosing the hybrid Live Virtual competition option.
CAN TEAMS EARN A BID TO WORLDS OR INVITE TO CANADIAN FINALS?
YES! Please see our Policies & Forms for the Bid Declaration for Worlds bids. Canadian Finals invitations can be awarded to teams competing via Live Virtual hybrid model as if they were competing Live at the event.
